๐Ÿ“‹ How-to guide

Open settings

Click the ๐Ÿท๏ธ XTagger icon in your browser toolbar โ†’ Settings tab (the โš™ icon at the bottom of the popup).

Display mode

Controls how tags appear next to usernames on X.com.

ModeWhat you seeBest for

Change takes effect immediately on any open X.com tab.

Theme

  • Auto โ€” follows your OS dark/light preference
  • Dark โ€” always dark
  • Light โ€” always light

This affects the XTagger popup only, not the pills injected into X.com (those adapt to X.comโ€™s own colour scheme).

Extended colour palette

When enabled, the tag editor shows 32 colours instead of 16 โ€” two rows of swatches. The additional 16 are darker, more saturated variants of the same hues, useful when you want to distinguish sub-categories within the same colour family.

Click pills to edit

When enabled (default), clicking a tag pill on X.com opens the edit popover for that tag โ€” letting you rename, recolour, or delete it inline.

When disabled, pills are purely decorative and clicks pass through to X.comโ€™s normal behaviour.

Saving settings

Settings save automatically as you change them. They sync across all open X.com tabs within a few seconds.
